This summer I had a great experience interning at the new men’s store in Fargo called Druthers. Druthers specializes in men’s casual wear, allowing men to not only feel comfortable, but look good doing it. Along with working as a Lead Sales Associate, I worked hand and hand with the owner Holly Kraft in planning the future buys of the store. I also helped with the marketing strategy of the store, creating social media posts and modeling the clothes of Druthers.

Flat Lays

Here are some of the flat lays that I created for our social media posts. A lot of these flat lays I did throughout my time at Druthers were inspired by specific settings that men go through in life, whether that be a night out with the boys, a day out on the lake, or even that perfect fit for the first date.

Modeling

As my marketing role progressed at Druthers, it quickly turned to me modeling our products to our customers, allowing them to see what they looked like on a male figure.

Special Project

For my special project I was able to put my hand in the buying and planning efforts of Druthers. This was initially started by Holly Kraft giving me an Excel sheet with all of our data collected since the opening of the store. With this data it was then up to me to contrast and compare the different numbers of each brand and their success in the store. We then took it a step further and hand my particular sub-category be sizing. With that category I was instructed to create pivot tables in excel and look at all the data through different perspectives. For example, I had to look at the sales of each brand in tops and look at their success through sale-through percentage, then look at them through each style of top, etc. After the pivot tables were made, I was then to make sense of each brand and their sales, which ultimately led to me being able to come up with a buying size scale for each brand. This means that for our future buy in particular brands I was having to figure out which sizes would be bought more or less than others. This was one way Holly was able to look at her buying for the spring season. (In respect of Druthers, no number figures were shown)
